National Manufacturing Day, celebrated on the first Friday of October, kicks off Manufacturing Month, which spans the entire month. This celebration offers a unique opportunity to highlight the manufacturing industry, providing insights into the inner workings of the sector. It helps those unfamiliar with manufacturing to understand job roles, learn about ongoing projects, and encourages further education in the field.

In the spirit of this observance, we are highlighting KSB’s world-class, state-of-the-art manufacturing complex at KSB GIW, Inc. Located in Grovetown, Georgia, USA this facility manufactures GIW® slurry pumps for the global mining community. GIW® slurry pumps are also manufactured at KSB South Africa and KSB Brazil. KSB India recently came on board as a manufacturing facility which further expands our global reach. An established global supply chain, backed by the GIW® Warranty, means our customers around the world can count on a reliable supply of slurry pumps and parts. KSB has distribution centers around the world that are strategically located near customers. This allows the KSB Group to provide the latest slurry pump technology when and where customers need it most.

KSB South Africa and KSB Brazil

For more than 60 years, KSB South Africa has served the needs of customers in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. This facility manufactures small and midsize GIW® slurry pumps. With the manufacturing process under one roof, the team is able to improve efficiency and reduce time to delivery, while maintaining optimal quality. Additionally, KSB South Africa employs an online acceptance testing process, which enables customers to view and accept equipment virtually.

KSB Brazil produces GIW® centrifugal slurry pumps and related systems with three production facilities in the state of São Paulo in the Southeast Region of the country. Our headquarters in Várzea Paulista produces engineered pump systems and the plant in Jundiaí and Americana manufactures standard pumps. The facility team currently boasts a 100% success rate with its dewatering float stations. The tailing lakes change in water level often, and KSB’s pontoons on the floating dewatering stations work within 30-to-50-meter depths without requiring any adjustments. KSB Brazil is well positioned to offer not only precise and reliable GIW® slurry pump equipment and spare parts, but also on-site consultation, preventive maintenance, and more.
